Co-op is gearing up for summer with a medley of new rosé wines that looks to celebrate producers from across the globe whilst appealing to shoppers looking for Provence-style rosés.

The convenience retailer has added eight new lines to its range that taps into the ever-popular pale and dry style that shoppers love whilst offering diversity of origin and price. Amongst the line-up, Co-op is adding a new and excusive offering to its premium own-label brand.

The new Irresistible Solo Rosé (13.5% abv, 75cl, £7.25) – a beautiful pale-dry Spanish Rosé hand-harvested from bush vine Garnacha - is the result of a close collaboration with Bodegas Aragonesas’ esteemed winemaker Javier Vela and Co-op buyer Sarah Benson. The new wine is an exciting addition for the retailer as the only premium own-label rosé offering currently in the range.

Joe Turner, Co-op’s category manager for wine, said: “Summer is a very busy period for our stores with the nicer weather typically driving those last-minute shopping missions, and for our wine category that’s ensuring we have a strong proposition for shoppers by bolstering our chilled range across our stores.

“Popularity of pale Provence-style rosé continue to dominate sales of rosé. At Co-op, we are looking to expand our offering to customers and members by looking for example, to Spain, Argentina and South Africa as well as France to offer variety in origin and price points but keeping the pale and dry appearance that our shoppers love. We’re excited to have an own-label premium offer in our range again, which has been sourced from a long-standing producer, Bodegas Aragonesas.”

Also new to the rosé offering is BDX Revolution Cabernet Franc Rosé (2021, 12% abv, £8.50). Made by David Hohnen, who founded Cloudy Bay back in 1985, this is old world fruit meeting new world talent. A glorious quartz pink hue with a palate of cherries and a hint of black berries on the beautifully dry finish.

Co-op has also added a host of other new white and red wines in preparation of summer, with 12 new lines for customers and members to try.
