Wickersley

Responding to a local increase in funeral planning, the newly opened Co-op Funeralcare in Wickersley is offering a unique opportunity for the public to visit the funeral home for support and guidance around funerals and later life planning.

Over the last year, Co-op Funeralcare in the area has seen a 15% increase in the number of people choosing to take out a funeral plan. The open day, which will take place on Wednesday 14th March, will give local residents the opportunity to ask any questions which they may have about funerals and later life planning.

It follows the launch of the Co-op Commitment* for funeral plans which ensures there is no shortfall on funeral costs, even if a plan holder passes away before all monthly instalments have been met.

Wickersley Funeralcare features a large reception area and two private chapels of rest where families can go to visit their loved one and pay their last respects.

Supporting families through difficult times will be Funeral Arrangers Lisa Kerr and Jane Bentley.

Co-op Funeral Arranger, Jane Bentley, commented:

“We are passionate about getting involved with the local community and doing what is right for our clients and their loved ones.

“It’s encouraging to see that more people are planning ahead for the future. Not only will the open day give local residents a chance to meet the team, but it will also give them a chance to ask any questions which they may have about planning ahead.”

There will be refreshments on offer to guests courtesy of the Wickersley Funeralcare team, including tea, coffee and cakes for all.

The open day will take place on Wednesday 14th March from 12pm until 2pm and will be held at Wickersley Co-op Funeralcare, 105 Bawtry Road, Wickersley, Rotherham, S66 2BL.

For further information about the open day please contact the funeral home directly on 01709 533365 or email Wickersley@coop.co.uk

About the Co-op Commitment*

Co-op Funeralcare has introduced a new additional commitment for clients choosing to pay monthly for their funeral plan.

Customers taking out a funeral plan with the Co-op and opting to pay in monthly instalments over 2-25 years can benefit from the Co-op Commitment. This means that if the customer passes away before they’ve paid for the plan in full, the family or next of kin can rest assured that they won’t need to cover any financial shortfall for the funeral as they will receive the full services in the plan.

The new feature, called the Co-op Commitment forms part of a wider focus on improving the funeral planning market for consumers. It has been launched to complement Co-op’s comprehensive range of funeral plans, which can be paid for upfront in full, over 6 or12 months, or via low cost monthly instalments over 2-25 years. Prices start from £2995 upfront or £16.68 per month on monthly instalments. Co-op is the only UK funeral plan provider to offer this level of cover with their plans.
