• Value fashion retailers Peacocks and Bonmarché set to open a combined six new concessions inside Co-op stores this month
• The new concessions take the total operated by the two fashion retailers inside Co-op stores to 20
Fashion retailers Peacocks and Bonmarché are growing their ‘store within a store’ partnership with Co-op, opening six new concessions this month which takes the total together to 20.
Peacocks and Bonmarché are focussed on opening new stores in key retail locations. The latest development sees four new Peacocks stores opening inside Co-op stores located in Cranleigh (Surrey); Machynlleth (Powys, Wales); Kippax (Leeds) and Whitby (North Yorkshire) – taking the total number of Peacocks concessions operating within Co-op stores to 13.
In addition, Co-op is welcoming two new branches of Bonmarché which open in its Lampeter (Ceredigion, Wales) and Shotts (North Lanarkshire, Scotland) stores this month, the new stores follow the opening of four* Bonmarché concessions inside Co-op stores earlier this year (a further Bonmarché concession opened in Co-op's Louth (Lincolnshire) store in 2024)– taking the total to seven.
Co-op is committed to creating stores with added services, which are a destination locally, and the ‘store within a store’ concept brings new shops, jobs and consumer choice to enrich high streets and communities. The move also enables the fashion retailers to bring their latest collections to more communities, showcasing the latest range of inspirational fashion, everything from wardrobe essentials and fashion staples to nightwear, accessories, and footwear.
The Bonmarché stores feature exciting collections from their brand ambassadors, Lisa Snowdon and Lorraine Kelly, as well as their everyday luxury brand Dash and casual lifestyle brand Autonomy.
Whilst Peacocks includes new collections from celebrity ambassadors Dani Dyer, Louise Redknapp and Michael Owen, and fashion for all the family with the new Dani Dyer Mini Collection for children.
Amanda Waterfield, Bonmarché Retail Director, commented:
“We're delighted to announce the opening of further Bonmarché concessions within Co-op stores in Lampeter and Shotts – following the successful launch of four branches inside Co-op stores earlier this year.
“This new 'store in store' concept allows us to showcase our full fashion offering, including our latest collections and exciting celebrity collaborations.
“We’re excited to become part of these new communities and offer customers stylish womenswear at exceptional value. This partnership also reflects our continued investment in the local high street, with over 225 Bonmarché stores across the UK, and we want to give a huge thank you to all the teams involved.”
Sharron Lamb, Retail Director at Peacocks, said:
“We’re so excited to open a further four Co-op concessions stores across the country, adding to the seven the new Peacocks stores we have opened this year, so far.
“With our new Autumn ranges, classic Christmas pjs and winter accessories available in-store now, shoppers can be sure to get everything they need to get ready for the new season at Peacocks.”
Kevin Buchan, Head of Partnerships, Co-op, said:
“We are delighted to grow our partnership with Peacocks and Bonmarché, and to work with them to unveil their latest in-store concessions. Co-op is committed to backing high streets and communities, and we work to ensure our stores are more than just a shop. We aim to create a destination in communities combining great quality products, value and deals along with a compelling range of added services – all at the heart of local community life.
"Providing a home for Peacocks and Bonmarché inside the local Co-op enables them to bring their latest value fashion collections to more communities, at the same time providing a new store, employment opportunities and additional consumer choice, locally."
