Co-op in Northumberland coastal town of Newbiggin-by-the-Sea set to re-launch this week following major makeover

Newbiggin-by-the-Sea Co-op re-launches and re-opens its doors to the community this week (Friday, 24 April) following a four-week investment programme to ‘transform’ the store.
Located in Front Street, Newbiggin-by-the-Sea, the store supports 14 local jobs with seasonal recruitment for the summer season soon set to start.
Opening between 7am-10pm daily, the store relaunches with a fresh new look and range to enhance the shopping experience for residents and visitors to the coastal town.
New refrigeration cuts energy consumption while enhancing the range and choice of fresh and chilled products, Co-op’s in store bakery has been extended and, a new Costa Coffee Express machine now dispenses both hot and chilled drinks. This sits alongside Co-op’s meal deals and food to go; Fairtrade products; ready meals and meal ideas – including its new Mexican-inspired ‘Served’ range; pizzas; fresh meats and dairy; chilled beers and wines, fresh flowers and, everyday essentials.
An InPost Locker has been added alongside services from Amazon and DPD to provide convenient parcel collections.
The online home delivery of groceries is also available via Just Eat and Uber Eats, with orders picked fresh in the local store and delivered quickly and conveniently in the local community. Plus, payment services are available via PayPoint.
There are offers, deals and promotions – including Co-op Irresistible pizza and a tub of Häagen-Dazs ice cream for just £5 for Members - throughout the store.
Member price savings create additional value for Co-op members who can save more with lower prices on the essential products shoppers buy most.

Soft plastic recycling is available in store - making it easier for shoppers to return and recycle materials that are often not universally accepted via household kerbside recycling, such as crisp packets and bread bags, lids from ready meals, biscuit wrappers and, pet food pouches.
