As the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge announce the name of their new born son, Prince Louis Arthur Charles, Co-op Insurance has revealed the UK’s most popular royal pet names.

Prince Louis’ big brother’s name tops the list, with George being the most popular royal name for our four legged friends.

Harry and Henry take second and third place, whilst the name Louis is fourth in line for most popular royal pet name.

Top ten royal pet names:

  4. Louis
  5. Megan
  6. William
  7. Edward
  8. Charlotte
  9. Kate
  10. Beatrice

The data also reveals that owners are creating pet royalty by giving their feline and canine pals royal titles. ‘Prince’ is the most popular royal title for pets, followed by ‘Princess’.
