Co-op serves-up a brand new Selkirk store, re-locating to a new, larger, location on the High Street to better serve and support the community.

The new Co-op store supports 16 local jobs and opens from 7am-10pm daily, it now includes Costa Coffee Express, hot food, enhanced bakery and focus on fresh and healthy produce.

The new refrigeration not only cuts Co-op’s carbon footprint, but also enhances the store’s fresh, frozen and chilled range. This sits alongside a focus on food-to-go and meal deals; Fairtrade goods; pizzas; flowers; ready meals, party food for the festive period; award winning wines and beers and, everyday essentials.

Parcel collection services are now available via an InPost Locker and Amazon.

Discounts are available for Young Scot cardholders.

Co-op is focussed on backing British High Streets and communities, and Niki Hill, Co-op Store Manager, said: “Our brand new store looks fantastic, we have had a great response from our customers. We have enjoyed welcoming the community into their new co-op. We’re proud to be part of the local community, and we're here to contribute to local life and conveniently serve and support the community.”

Member price savings create additional value for Co-op members who can save more with personalised offers, deals and promotions and, lower prices on the products shoppers buy most.

Soft plastic recycling is available in store, making it easier for shoppers to return and recycle materials that many local authorities do not yet accept in kerbside recycling, such as crisp packets and bread bags, lids from ready meals, biscuit wrappers and, pet food pouches.

The store is one of 50 new or transformed stores Co-op confirmed last month it would open before Christmas, including stores in: Brora; Irvine; Inverness; Fortrose; Callander and Gairloch as well as here in Selkirk.
