Co-op serves-up new-look store in Bedfordshire town of Flitwick

Flitwick Co-op relaunches following a five-week programme of improvements to ‘transform’ the store.

Community group’s which the store team have worked with were among those taking part in launch day celebrations, helping to cut the ribbon and declare the new-look store re-open to serve the community.

Located in Conniston Road, the new-look Co-op store – which supports 13 local jobs - re-launches with an enhanced new look and layout, including the addition of Costa Coffee Express and enhanced fresh and healthy produce.

New refrigeration not only cuts Co-op’s carbon footprint, but also enhances the store’s fresh and chilled range. This sits alongside a focus on food-to-go and meal deals; bakery; Fairtrade goods; pizzas; flowers; ready meals, party food for the festive period; award winning wines and beers and, everyday essentials.

Parcel collection is available at the store via Amazon and an InPost Locker.

Co-op is committed to backing British High Streets, and Lucy Crane, Co-op Area Manager, said: “We’re delighted to invest in Flitwick. Member price savings create additional value for Co-op members who can save more with personalised offers, deals and promotions and, lower prices on the products shoppers buy most.

Soft plastic recycling is available in store, making it easier for shoppers to return and recycle materials that are often not universally accepted via kerbside recycling, such as crisp packets and bread bags, lids from ready meals, biscuit wrappers and, pet food pouches.

Customer car parking is available, and a free ATM provides access to cash in the community.

The store is one of 50 new or transformed stores Co-op confirmed last month it would open before Christmas.
