23 April 2024
Co-op is set to launch its newest food store in Blyth this week (Friday, 26 April) located in The Links at South Beach.
Kayleigh Davidson, Co-op Store Manager, said: “We are really looking forward to welcoming the community into their new Co-op. It is very exciting to be launching Co-op’s newest store.”
The new 2,500 sq ft convenience store has created 15 local jobs and will include an in-store bakery, Costa Coffee Express machine and, a free ATM to provide access to cash in the community. This sits alongside a focus on fresh, healthy produce; meal ideas; everyday essentials; food-to-go; Fairtrade products, flowers, chilled beers and award-winning wines; ready meals, pizzas and, free-from, vegan and plant-based products.
The online home delivery of groceries will be available through Just Eat and Uber Eats - with orders picked fresh in the local store, and delivered quickly and conveniently in the community.
A soft plastic recycle unit is also available in store to enable the community to recycle ‘soft plastics’ including: crisp packets and bread bags, lids from ready meals and yogurt pots, biscuit wrappers and, pet food pouches - ensuring all Co-op’s own food packaging is recyclable through local authority kerbside collections, or the in-store recycling unit.
Kayleigh added: “Our aim is to operate at the heart of local life and we have worked to develop the range, choice and added services to create a compelling offer to serve our community, conveniently. With a focus on delivering member-value so that the people who own our business, our member-owners, benefit every time they shop.”
