Co-op 'un-veils' Marry Me Chicken Sandwich, inspired by TikTok trend
14 April 2025
Co-op has ‘lifted the veil’ on a limited edition Irresistible Marry Me Chicken Sandwich (£4.35), inspired by the viral ‘Marry Me Chicken’ TikTok recipes.
The new sandwich, available now until – 18th June, is set to delight shoppers as the only one of its kind on the UK high street and can be enjoyed as part of Co-op’s Premium Lunchtime Meal Deal.
The launch jumps on trend which has recently taken social media by storm – a recipe adored by foodies and content creators alike – and a recipe created initially back in 2016. Dubbed ‘Marry Me Chicken’ as it’s thought to taste so good it’s ‘marriage worthy’, the popular dish now found on the likes of TikTok and Instagram, typically features chicken breasts cooked in a rich, creamy and vibrant sauce made with a good helping of sun-dried tomatoes, cream, garlic, herbs and Parmesan.
Delivering sweet and umami flavours, the premium handmade sandwich is a delicious combination of succulent British Chicken breast slices, slow-roasted Sunblush tomatoes, peppery rocket, juicy tomatoes and smoky chipotle and tomato chutney mayo – all sandwiched between two slices of soft pepper and paprika bread.
Nicole Tallant, Head of Own Brand at Co-op, said: “We’re always looking for ways to innovate and develop truly delicious products that create excitement. As a convenience retailer, we know our Lunchtime Meal Deal provides added value for shoppers and is a popular choice for many on-the-go – adding a limited-edition sandwich to the premium deal, inspired by one of the biggest food trends in the past year, felt like a match made in heaven. We can’t wait to see how this launch lands with our members and customers – this sandwich is so good, its marriage worthy!”
Providing Co-op shoppers even more options to mix and match at lunchtime, the Marry Me Chicken Sandwich will be available as a main option in the Premium Lunchtime Meal Deal: main, snack and drink for £5.50 for members (£6.00 for non-members).
