Community News: Loftus bowls club backed by Co-op Funeralcare

11 October 2016

Loftus Co-op Funeralcare has provided a local bowling club with brand new equipment ahead of their next bowling season.

David McGill, a member of Loftus Bowls’ Club, approached Co-op Funeralcare about sponsorship, as they had heard about their involvement with other local community projects. Their equipmment was in a very poor state of repair, and they were in need of new bowling mats, score cards and cloths, to ensure that its members could continue to bowl at the club.

David McGill, Club Captain, explained:

“Our club is entirely self-funded by its members, so it can be difficult to replace old or faulty equipment. We realised how passionate Co-op Funeralcare are about supporting local causes and community activities, and our bowling club certainly plays a key part within that community.

“I know our club members are all incredibly grateful, and we hope that this will be the start of a fantastic relationship between our two organisations.”

Glenis Sanderson, Funeral Arranger for Loftus Co-op Funeralcare, said:

“We were able to donate 6 bowls mats, cloths and score cards to the club, and it’s very evident that members are delighted with them.

“Sponsorship of community groups is incredibly important to us, and we wanted to show our support in any way that we could. We wish them all the best in their future matches.”
