Fairwater Co-op (Cardiff) re-launches following nine-week programme of improvements to ‘transform’ the store

A Cardiff community has seen its Co-op relaunch following a nine-week programme of works and improvements to ‘transform’ the store.

Located in Fairwater Green, Fairwater, Co-op’s near 2,700 sq ft new-look store supports 18 local jobs and serves-up an increased range of fresh, healthy and chilled produce alongside its focus on meal ideas and everyday essentials; bakery, food-to-go and meal deals; Fairtrade products; award winning wines; ready meals; pizzas; vegan and plant-based products.

A Costa Coffee Express machine has been added.

Co-op is committed to supporting British farmers, and all of its own-branded meat is 100% British including in its pies, sandwiches and ready meals.

The online home delivery of groceries is available through Deliveroo, Just Eat and Uber Eats, along with Co-op’s own online shop – shop.coop.co.uk – orders are picked fresh in the local store and delivered quickly and conveniently in the community.

Co-op members enjoy a wide range of benefits including member-only price savings across everyday essentials, and personalised offers via the Co-op Membership App.

A soft plastic recycle unit is available in store to enable the community to return ‘soft plastics’ including: crisp packets and bread bags, lids from ready meals and yogurt pots, biscuit wrappers and, pet food pouches - ensuring all Co-op’s own food packaging is recyclable through either local authority kerbside collections, or the in-store soft plastic recycling.
