Hearty additions freshen up chilled soup range for Autumn

The sharing-size 600g soups will go into chilled aisles in Co-operative food stores from 12 September 2012, and are ideal for those looking to serve up an authentic homemade-style soup, but with little time to cook from scratch.
Infused with the flavours of North Africa, the new Truly Irresistible Moroccan Chicken Soup is sumptuously made with higher-welfare British Freedom Food chicken breast, chickpeas, apricots and green lentils gently cooked in a rich tomato base. The recipe is enlivened with an exotic Ras el Hanout spice blend and finished with a subtle sweetness from a swirl of honey.
Also new to the range is the Truly Irresistible Garden Pea and Shredded Ham Hock Soup. A creamy and hearty soup, this ideal lunchtime treat includes tasty sweet peas and delicious ham hock, which infuses the soup with a natural smoky flavour - yummy with a chunky piece of wholemeal bread.
Making a return to the autumnal range with a new recipe, the Truly Irresistible Chickpea and Chorizo Soup has a rich and spicy tomato base, packed with chickpeas, onion, spicy chorizo sausage, smoked paprika, red chillies and chopped parsley. A warming delight for the colder weather!
The Co-operative’s Truly Irresistible Butternut Squash and Sage Soup also returns with a new recipe for autumn. A velvety-smooth soup made with butternut squash, single cream and honey, this tasty and filling product has flecks of red chili and chopped herbs for even more flavour.
Lastly, the deliciously appetising Truly Irresistible Tomato and Lentil Soup has a new recipe, too. A hearty soup made with fresh vegetables, tomatoes, puy lentils, red peppers and red split lentils delights the taste buds with a warming kick of chilli and one of your five-a-day.
