High Street Co-op store in Devon coastal town of Sidmouth re-launches
27 February 2026
Sidmouth’s High Street Co-op relaunches with a fresh new look following an eight-week investment programme to ‘transform’ the community store.
The store, located in High Street, Sidmouth, supports 14 local jobs, and opens between 7am-10pm daily.
Co-op is committed to backing Britain’s high streets and communities and has invested to transform its Sidmouth store which includes Costa Coffee Express, bakery and an increased range and choice of fresh and healthy products. This sits alongside Co-op’s choice of meal deals and food to go; Fairtrade products; ready meals; fresh meats and dairy; chilled beers and wines and, everyday essentials.
Parcel collection services are available in store through Amazon.
There are offers, deals and promotions throughout the store, plus member price savings create additional value for Co-op members who can save more with lower prices on the products shoppers buy most.
Greg Yuill, Co-op Area Manager, said: “We’re delighted to invest in Sidmouth, the store has been transformed with a great new look. We’re focussed on backing Britain’s high streets and communities, creating stores that are a hub locally and contribute to local life - conveniently meeting the needs of their community. The store has a focus on offering quality products, value and choice that can be enjoyed by everyone, along with a range of added services including coffee, PayPoint and parcel collection services. We’re here to contribute to local life and conveniently serve and support our community.”
Soft plastic recycling is available in store - making it easier for shoppers to return and recycle materials that are often not universally accepted via kerbside recycling, such as crisp packets and bread bags, lids from ready meals, biscuit wrappers and, pet food pouches.
While investment in new refrigeration and natural refrigerants further cuts energy use and lowers environmental impact.
Earlier this year, in a UK convenience retailer first, Co-op launched new own-brand GLP-1 friendly meals, specially developed for shoppers with smaller appetites, as part of Co-op’s new “Good Fuel” health range offer.
Co-op also has a commitment to backing British agriculture, with all of its fresh and frozen meat 100% British – including in its pies, ready meals and sandwiches.
Co-op’s Sidmouth store is one of 18 stores Co-op confirmed it would open in the first three months of 2026, either brand new stores or stores re-launching after transformative investment.
