02 April 2026
The Co-op store in the community of Innerleithen relaunches in time for Easter (Thursday, 2 April) following an eight-week investment programme to ‘transform’ the community store.
Co-op is committed to investing in high streets and communities and, located in Peebles Road, the Innerleithen store supports 18 local jobs with the investment creating a fresh new look and enhanced range, along with works back of shop to support operations and customer service.
Innerleithen’s Co-op includes Costa Coffee Express and enhanced bakery. Investment in new refrigeration cuts energy consumption while increasing the range and choice of fresh and chilled products, and this sits alongside Co-op’s meal deals and food to go; hot food, Fairtrade products; ready meals; pizzas; fresh meats and dairy; chilled beers and wines, fresh flowers and, everyday essentials.
The store also includes added services including payment services via PayPoint, and parcel collections via Amazon and DPD.
There are offers, deals and promotions throughout the store, and member price savings create additional value for Co-op members who can save more with lower prices on everyday essentials that shoppers buy most.
Young Scot cardholders also receive a discount in store.
Michelle Young, Co-op Area Manager, said: "We’re delighted to invest in Innerleithen - it is fantastic to have the opportunity to transform the community’s Co-op to enhance and improve the shopping experience, and we would like to thank the community for all their support during the works. Co-op has a focus on offering quality products, value and choice that can be enjoyed by everyone, along with a range of added services to make everyday life easier for the community – we are extremely proud to be part of local community life, we’re here to serve and support the community, conveniently."
Innerleithen’s Co-op opens between 7am-10pm daily.
Soft plastic recycling is available in store - making it easier for shoppers to return and recycle materials that are often not universally accepted via kerbside recycling, such as crisp packets and bread bags, lids from ready meals, biscuit wrappers and, pet food pouches.
