Kent Co-op re-opens following major makeover

Deal’s Co-op relaunches (Friday, 20 February) with a fresh new look following a five-week investment programme to ‘transform’ the community store.

The store, located in Mill Road, Deal (Kent), supports 14 local jobs, and opens between 7am-11pm daily.

Co-op has invested to ‘transform’ Deal’s Co-op, which now includes Costa Coffee Express, bakery and increased range and choice of fresh and healthy products, alongside its popular meal deals and food to go; Fairtrade products; ready meals; fresh meats and dairy and, chilled beers and wines. Self service tills have also been added to offer shoppers enhanced ease, speed and convenience, especially at busier times.

The online home delivery of groceries is available through Deliveroo – with orders selected fresh in the local store and delivered quickly and conveniently in the community.

Parcel collection services are available over the counter through Amazon.

There are offers and promotions throughout the store, and member price savings create additional value for Co-op members who can save more with lower prices on the products shoppers buy most.

Soft plastic recycling is available in store - making it easier for shoppers to return and recycle materials that are often not universally accepted via kerbside recycling, such as crisp packets and bread bags, lids from ready meals, biscuit wrappers and, pet food pouches.

Co-op’s Deal store is one of 18 stores Co-op confirmed it would open in the first three months of 2026, either brand new stores or stores re-launching after transformative investment.

Earlier this year, in a UK convenience retailer first, Co-op launched new own-brand GLP-1 friendly meals, specially developed for shoppers with smaller appetites, as part of Co-op’s new “Good Fuel” health range offer. Co-op also has a commitment to backing British agriculture, with all of its fresh and frozen meat 100% British – including in its pies, ready meals and sandwiches.

This month also sees Co-op unveil is new ‘Served - Classics Collection*’ – allowing members to grab a main course and two sides for two at just £8. The new range includes six mains and 11 side options, with 330 possible meal combos available. All dishes use only high-quality ingredients and produce, including 100% British meat. The menu includes: Beef & Red Wine Casserole; Hunters Chicken; NEW Chicken Casserole; Roast Pork with Apple Sauce; NEW Cheese & Onion Pie and Cheesy Cod Gratin.
