The Co-operative Funeralcare’s new funeral home in Newbury.
The Funeral home, located on 17 The Broadway, Newbury features a reception room, family arrangement room and a service chapel offering a welcoming and calming environment for the bereaved and members of the local Newbury community.
The chapel was officially opened with a service of dedication conducted by local cross-denominational Ministers and celebrants, before attendees had the opportunity to see some of the funeral providers most alternative and unique hearses including the horse-drawn hearse and motorbike hearse.
The open day also signalled the beginning of the British Legion Poppy activity, which will run between September and December for Remembrance Sunday. One of the iconic, ceramic Tower Hill Poppies which last year attracted over 5 million visitors to the capital was included in a raffle to raise money for the charity.
Funeral Director, Loraine Beckinsale who joined The Co-operative Funeralcare as a funeral arranger in 2012 said:
“We are delighted to be opening a funeral home in Newbury and it was great to see so many members of community and representatives from local businesses at the open day.
“This investment will help us to provide a high quality service to local people at one of the most difficult times.”
