Newest Co-op store in Wales launches in Morriston (Swansea)

The newest Co-op store in Wales launched today (Thursday, 13 June) in the community of Rhodfa Fadog, Morriston (Swansea).
Creating 17 local jobs, the purpose built new Co-op store is designed to serve and support the community, conveniently, and includes an instore bakery and Costa Coffee Express alongside a focus on fresh, healthy and chilled produce; meal ideas and everyday essentials; sandwiches and food-to-go; Fairtrade products, flowers, chilled beers and award-winning wines; ready meals, pizzas and, free-from, vegan and plant-based products.
There is also customer car parking, and the online home delivery of groceries will become available through Deliveroo shortly after the store’s launch, where orders are picked fresh in the local store and delivered quickly and conveniently in the community.
Parcel collection services are also be available via an InPost Locker.
Co-op is committed to supporting UK farmers, growers and suppliers, with all of its fresh and frozen meat and poultry, including in its ready meals, pies and freshly prepared sandwiches, 100% British.
A soft plastic recycle unit is available in store to enable the community to recycle ‘soft plastics’ including: crisp packets and bread bags, lids from ready meals and yogurt pots, biscuit wrappers and, pet food pouches - ensuring all Co-op’s own food packaging is recyclable either through local authority kerbside collections, or the in-store recycling unit.

The store operates as a Co-op franchise. The convenience retailer is committed to growing its award-winning franchise business, with the model enabling Co-op to bring its products and, the benefits of Membership, to more communities. Morriston’s Co-op is operated by Universal Service Stations Ltd (USS). USS launched their first Co-op franchise store in Parc Derwen (Bridgend) in January, with a third store set to open with USS later this year in Cardiff.

The Co-op at Rhodfa Fadog, Morriston, opens between 7am-10pm daily.
