The Co-operative is ‘Occupier of the Year’ at the Property Awards

05 July 2013

The Co-operative Group

The Co-operative won the award for its involvement in NOMA in Manchester city centre and the disposal of surplus warehouses.

Now in its 18th year, The Property Awards reward excellence and outstanding performance in the UK property market. Nominated by the property industry and then chosen by an esteemed panel of judges, The Co-operative fought off stiff competition from fellow nominees Burberry, BBC, B&M, Sainsbury’s and Whitbread to be awarded the coveted prize.

Commenting on the decision, the panel of judges stated that:  “Our winner has expanded and delivered nationally and demonstrated a dedicate commitment to sustainability."

The Co-operative Estates are the custodian of over 10 000 properties across the UK. The team’s diverse portfolio stretches from The Group’s trading outlets in the food retail, pharmacy, funerals and banking sectors, through to the commercial, investment, residential and agricultural portfolios. The portfolio also includes NOMA, the 20 acres, highly sustainable, mixed use redevelopment in Manchester City Centre.
