The Co-operative to open new food store in Perth
19 June 2014
The Co-operative Food has announced plans to open a new food store in Bridgend, Perth.
It has agreed a deal to open a new store on Main Street, Bridgend, and the development will create 20 new full and part time jobs.
Work on the new store will commence next week (23 June), and it is expected to open in late-September. It will have a sales area of around 2,500 sq ft, and 10 car parking spaces.
The store will offer shoppers a wide selection of fresh and chilled products, The Co-operative’s premium Truly Irresistible range, delicious ready meals, in-store bakery and an extensive wine range, including chilled champagne. A cash machine will also be available.
Ian Mason, Regional Acquisitions Manager for The Co-operative Food in Scotland, said:
“A convenience store with a strong emphasis on fresh produce will enable us to build upon an established customer base and provide an even better service for the community. The location is ideal for us, and we are very confident the new store will be an asset to the village and wider area.”
