The Corrie cobbles hit the road with Co-op

The iconic Coronation Street cobbles are set to travel the lengths of the country with Co-op specially branded delivery trucks, as part of its landmark deal.
From today (12 November) 22 Co-op ‘Corrie Lorries’ will start to roll out featuring the assets of the famous Street, to drive further excitement of this unique partnership.
Ali Jones, Customer Director at Co-op said: “The launch of our Weatherfield Co-op store has brought so much joy to our colleagues and customers and we can’t wait to see our lorries hitting the roads.
“Coronation Street is all about community life and the Co-op is a retailer at the heart of local life and we are delighted to be able to bring this partnership even closer to our customers who love Coronation Street just as much as we do.”
Co-op officially opened its Weatherfield store in April 2018 which sees the shop front appear on episodes of the iconic soap, as well as other branded assets such as posters and bags.
The convenience retailer, who has achieved five consecutive years of LfL growth has 12 depots, servicing 2,700 stores across the country and has a strong convenience strategy of getting closer to its members and customers, what they want, when and where they need it.
With food sales up 4.4 per cent LfL, the community retailer has rewarded its 4.5m active members and their communities with £79m – £60m directly to members and £19m to over 4,000 community projects across the UK.
The lorries, which were revolutionised by the truck branding business, Truckskinz, will be located across the UK and serviced out of all Co-op depots.
