The Salisbury Road convenience store – which supports 15 local jobs – has been ‘transformed’ with a fresh new look, and has extended opening hours to 6am-10pm daily. The store includes an enhanced focus on fresh, healthy, chilled and frozen products, a bakery, hot food and Costa Coffee Express. This sits alongside the store’s focus on food-to-go and meal deals; Fairtrade products, pizzas, flowers; ready meals, award winning beers and wines and, every day essentials.
Salisbury Road’s Co-op is a hub for online grocery delivery, orders are picked fresh in the local store and delivered quickly and conveniently in the community. Online orders from Co-op are available via Just Eat and Uber Eats.
Payment services are available via PayPoint, and the added convenience of out-of-home collection of parcels is also offered at the store through DPD.
New refrigeration will not only enhance the fresh, chilled and frozen range, but also support Co-op’s work to further cut its carbon footprint. Soft plastic recycling is also available, enabling shoppers to return harder to recycle materials such as crisp packets and bread bags, lids from ready meals, biscuit wrappers and, pet food pouches.
Member price savings create additional value for Co-op’s member-owners, with personalised offers for members and lower prices on the products shoppers buy most.
Colin Hayward, Co-op’s Area Operations Manager, said: “The whole team is delighted to invest in Totton, and are really enjoying welcoming the community back into their local Co-op. The store has been totally transformed with a fresh new look and more spacious feel. We aim to be a community hub with added services including the online home delivery of groceries, Costa Coffee Express, payment services and parcel collections, and we pride ourselves on being able to deliver the quality, choice and value which can be enjoyed by everyone. We’re here to contribute to local life and conveniently serve and support the community.”
