Upshire Co-op re-opens following major makeover to ‘transform’ community store
19 June 2025
Upshire’s Co-op re-opens (Thursday, 19 June) with a fresh new look following a nine-week programme of works and improvements to ‘transform’ the community store.
The store supports 11 local jobs and includes added services including payment services via PayPoint and, the online home delivery of groceries through Deliveroo - where orders are picked fresh in the local store and delivered quickly and conveniently in the community, in as little as under 60 minutes.
Opening between 6am-10pm daily, the store offers an extensive range of fresh and chilled produce, in-store bakery, food-to-go and meal deals; Fairtrade products, pizzas, flowers; ready meals, award winning wines and everyday essentials.
Member price savings create additional value for Co-op’s member-owners, with personalised offers for members and lower prices on the products shoppers buy most.
Supporting UK farmers, all of Co-op’s fresh meat – including in its ready meals, pies and sandwiches - is 100% British.
Abdul Wahid, Co-op Area Operations Manager, said: “The whole team is delighted to have the opportunity to re-launch Upshire’s Co-op. We are committed to ensuring that the store is a community hub and part of local life, it has a great new look, and has been totally transformed with a fresh, and more spacious look and feel. Plus a range of added services to serve and support the community, conveniently. We pride ourselves on being able to deliver the quality, choice and value which can be enjoyed by everyone, and we are really looking forward to welcoming members and customers back into their Co-op.”
Co-op is one of the world’s largest consumer-owned co-operatives, with its history dating back more than 180 years. Its 6.5m members own the business and play an intrinsic part in the governance of the organisation.
