Skills and experience
I am passionate about the values of the Co-op and its role in the local community. Being a member of the Council would allow me to really help to shape the way the Co-op works on the issues that matter such as sustainability and environment, ethics and human rights.
Additional information
Having studied International Business, Finance and Economics at the University of Manchester, I set out on the path to becoming an auditor. Part way through my qualification, I moved jobs and started working as a project manager, implementing internal audit software. In this role I worked with various internal audit teams, both in this country and abroad. It was a fantastic opportunity that allowed me to gain a number of transferrable skills, gave me the experience of working with and delivering training sessions to CFOs and internal audit teams of various sizes who all used different terminologies and had varying working practices and reporting requirements.
Fast forward some 10 years, I am now a mum of 3, run my own business and get involved in the community as much as I can. I am currently working on setting up a local directory to enable Lymm residents to quickly and easily find the services they require. We are also hoping this not-for-profit initiative will support and boost local businesses at the same time.
Recently I became aware of just how little I knew about the impact our day to day lives have on the environment and I am actively working on reducing the carbon footprint of our family and hoping to do a lot more in this area going forward.
