Member Pioneer. As Member Pioneer, I have attended meetings of the local Fairtrade Steering Group, which was successful in continuing Aberdeen’s Fairtrade city status.

My career to date has been varied. I’ve worked as a quantity surveying assistant; project officer within the community/social enterprise sector; civil servant; support worker for those with disability; and currently as an employability worker with a local authority/health and social care partnership assisting those with additional support needs to access the job market or else move closer to employment. I try to have a positive and can-do approach to things and like to be co-operative.

I hold qualifications in business; management; employability; and Housing.
I serve as a non-executive board member of a local Regional Equality Council; and also a local social housing association, where I am Interim Chair. I previously served on the board of the fair trade organisation, Aberdeen for a Fairer World, and north east Scotland homeless charity, Aberdeen Cyrenians. I am active in Lions Clubs International.

I believe I have the skills needed to be an effective council member, e.g. attention to detail, but also being able to see the bigger picture; able to ask pertinent questions; able to act as a team player.
