Open, democratic and accountable to members.

Co-op is not a PLC. We do not sell shares to investors. We do not have shareholders. We have over 5 million members who all have an equal stake in the business. And membership is open to anyone for £1.

This means that our business decisions are guided by members and our values.

Our executive manages the business. They are accountable to our board, who are elected by members.

Members have their say at board level through member nominated directors and our members' council.
